Yangon City Golf Resort Description:
Yangon City Golf Resort, commonly known as YCDC Golf Club, has two eighteen-hole golf courses. The first eighteen holes course has been given the name Ngwe Thaw Tar/ silver and opened in the year 1994.
The course plays 7000 yards from the tips. The second eighteen-hole is called Myakantha and was opened two years after the first one, in 1996. A short 6,208-yard layout; about 40 minutes drive to the North of Yangon City. The course was designed by renowned Kyi Hla Han who was the Asian Golf Tour executive chairman.
The two courses are indeed very different. Silver is on a low flat plain including forgiving broad fairways as well as flat greens. The topography makes the course great for average golfers. Myakantha is, on the other hand, more challenging because of tighter fairways as well as large overhanging trees that demand greater precisions.
The golf course is known for hosting Asian PGA Tour events in 1998 and 1999. The well-maintained fairways and greens make it Yangon City of the best layouts and a must visit when traveling to golf in Myanmar.
